Anytime brother.

Make sure it is a mil spec carbine length buffer tube if you plan on using the Hoffman Tactical stock system, if not just make sure its milspec carbine or pistol length, rifle length tubes are only for the fixed length A2 style stock.

Honestly start looking for community colleges and take a machining class if they've got one.
