This is a reproduction of Colts LSW / LMG handguard for the support weapon variant of the M16 platform.
The handguard uses a triangle end cap to remain compatible with available parts.
It can be printed whole on a large printer or made in sections and welded. A high temp filament is reccomended.
I have used aluminium sheet and reflective metal tape successfully as a heat shield for printed handguards.
Be mindful of scaling as this item is a foot long and will not fit correctly if not scaled to compensate for shrinkage.
The delta ring detents on this handguard are modelled slightly oversized and fitting is needed. I reccomend heating it with a torch and pressing it into place.
