there are extended magazine releases in this as well if that wasn't clear.
This is the entire polymer assembly to get a working mag release.
you will need one print each of:
- a mandrel
- a female magazine release housing
- a male magazine release
hardware
- OEM PX4 magazine release spring or a 0.3" OD, 0.234" ID, 4 coil, 0.4" length, 22GA wire compression spring.
put the male piece into the female housing then lock it in with the mandrel. the male piece is a collet that will expand when the mandrel is placed in it to keep it in place.
the printed version has no taper unlike the OEM part. its not necessary with the friction from the layered print.
You will have to print the male file parallel to your X axis at the least. Its the only part you can't print on one of its end upwards. However, I would recommend printing all 3 files
laying down in this fashion. The collet arms will break off immediately if you don't print the male laying down.
Refer to the images near the readme for suggested orientation
There are a couple magazine releases to choose from and the difference between them is about .100" with exception of the MONDO size which is .500". If you are printing this for the
Deterrence Dispensed PPX4 92 mag version I would recommend the extended at least with how it extends the trigger guard.
- this was made for and tested with the Deterrence Dispensed PPX4 92 magazine model. Specifically a .40 cal but my 9mm magazines also worked (avoid printing that model the trigger guard makes it unusable)
- should work with an OEM PX4 frame
- this was tested with a 0.4mm nozzle with 0.4mm layer lines
- the magazine lug should probably be reworked but it works for now.
