So you put a lower with a buffer tube on an AR with no buffer, and then hide a suppressor in the empty tube?

I like this idea.

They already have 3d printable baffles of many types. You'd just need to scale them to the internal specs of the buffer tube. A drill jig for enlarging the drain hole could also be 3d printable.

A direct thread adapter to the front end can be made on a mini-lathe with threading tooling …
