ACE-MB-1 GAS TUBE COVER
Steel reinforced AK gas tube cover built around two 3.5" inside corner braces from a certain local hardware store. Enjoy! ~ <3 ~
materials
hardware
This stock is built around a specific set of inside corner braces. I don't know if it will fit others. You only have to use a single brace for this build, but you may optionally use two - one on either side of the gas tube - for additional support. ICB is measured 3.5 in. H X 2.238 in. W X 3.5 in. L.
The rest of the hardware, you likely already have.
- 8x M5x10 screws
- 8x M5 heatserts (optional)
filament
This gas tube cover was printed and tested with PA6-GF25. Use your own best judgement given your budget, equipment, and needs.
printing
- Material: PA6-GF25
- Nozzle temp: 270-290
- Bed temp: 100
- Supports: none
- Walls: 8
- Sparse infill: 60%-80%
- Infill pattern: gyroid
- Brim: 6-8mm
3MF files are oriented correctly for clean and tough support-free prints.
assembly
- If you opted for heatserts, install them in the 8 holes - 4 on each printed piece.
- Connect the two gas tube cover ends with one or two ICBs using the M5 screws. Minor bending/fitting may be required.
- Twist the gas tube cover onto the gas tube. Alternatively it may be assembled in place on the gas tube.
- If the assembly is too lose, you can use slightly longer M5 screws and tighten until they each make contact with the gas tube. Do not overtighten.

It surrounds the forend of the firearm, giving you a place to mount accessories and place your forward hand without needing to touch a scalding fucking hot barrel.
Guns with a non-hand point of contact that fire rifle cartridges. For the purposes of this index, full-length rifles and carbines are in the same category.

I'll be honest -- I don't know enough about Kalashnikovs to tell you how tagging should be split up. So you guys get this tag.
