This is the safety / handle for the SMP40 machined charging handle, to be paired with 3D Print Freedom's machined charging handle base. It contains detent holes for the detent ball, and a pinhole to secure the safety in place.
This printed part is not included in the official SMP40 release. It should be used only with 3D Print Freedom's machined charging handle.

UPDATE 10/30/2025: the latest batch of stock I received is a little wider than spec, which will make this print a little too tight. I've created a modified version that's a little larger. I've also included a STEP of the charging handle, so people can modify it if this happens again in the future.
UPDATE 11/4/2025: another version of the "wider" handle to better fit the oversized stock.
