6.5mm Grendel 10 Round Ammo Box
I used the Vilcoyote77 7.62x39 50rds box as the basis of this box, but there's really no specific part of that design left.
I had orgininally made these up for test batches, but they are a nice size for slipping into a pocket, so these might be good for hunting.
Designed to use as little material as possible, but still be sturdy enough that it won't break, requiring a reprint.
I made it large enough so that you can load long. SAAMI spec or factory ammo will fit with a good amount of room to spare.
Fired shell casings will sit lower than live rounds, but internal supports will hold the case at the taper, so you will still be able to grab the rim to pull them out.
Print Settings:
Printer brand:
Creality
Printer:
Ender 3
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.24 to 0.32mm
Infill:
60%
Filament brand:
Overture
Filament color:
White
Filament material:
PETG
Notes:
Light-colored PETG suggested, as PLA can warp in the sun.
Walls at 0.6mm or more, infill probably doesn't matter much.
Suggest support everywhere for the box. Print box bottom down on the build plate, with the holes up. If you are confident about your bridging though, do what you want.
If you print the lid with the closed end down, you don't need supports. See photos.
