I kept scraping my fingers on the Hoffman hose clamp so I designed this to solve the problem.
Features:
The charging handle can be removed in under 2 seconds.
The charging handle has a divot in the end so it should not slip and fail to properly locate on the charging handle.
The charging handle falls downward flush with the AR when not in use.
Issues:
charging using the farthest out part of the handle can cause extra bending which isn't optimal
the handle can interfere with ar barrel nut/handguard things and in certain configs won't stow completely flat.
Prerequisites:
ar-15 with mil-spec charging handle
2x m4x35 or m4x30 screws and nuts
Printer Settings:
Print Charger Housing and Clamp Vertically. Print charging handle horizontally.
charging handle 100% infill
exclusive tolerances in cura for all parts (only has been tested using this setting but may work fine without it)
Post Processing: Sand down the charging handle shaft until it runs smoothly.
Feel free to repost or remix or claim it as your own creation or whatever I don't care. Crediting me would be nice, but do whatever you want. Go crazy.
