Last Update: 2023-19-09, Updated files for Booster Jig, corrected error with bushing size (Typo), added more instruction to Post-Processing.
Release Notes:
This is the original CP9 Design which was based heavily on a Prototype .22LR Suppressor from Dr. Mussy which is still to be named, in looking over the low-pressure design I saw a great candidate for a 9mm flow-through Suppressor that could be modified to work really well with 1/2-24 Thread adapters, and so the CP9 was born, unfortunately there were some issues with the original and so later the CP9 Hex v2 was born, making the design lighter but still increasing the overall diameter where it counted made all the difference in the world, and as of the time of writing this there are 5 Testers that are currently in excess of 200 rounds fired each with no sign of any issues. I have included corrected CP9 v1 files with this drop as well.
Legal Considerations:
As far as the *AFT* and Federal Government of the USA is concerned, you will want to File a Form 1 Build BEFORE obtaining the materials and make any components of a Suppressor, this can be done through the ATF, you can E-File and either set up
as an Individual or a Trust, You can quite easily find the information on how to do this with a Quick search following the lines of "How to File a Form-1 Build" and would strongly suggest doing so to keep your Family safe and your Dog a Virgin.
Pay your Tax or do not pass Go...
This being said, thanks to Texas State House Bill 957 (passed in 2015), and the lesser-known Idaho State Statute Title 18 Section 13-3315A (passed in 2010), you can Build your own Suppressor within State Borders without the fear of prosecution from your State,
while these laws (being if they still current) allow you to exercise your Second Amendment Rights to hearing protection and Firearm Accessories, these laws do not protect you from your Friendly Neighborhood FedBoi. Be vigilant, be smart,
above all else remember that Unconstitutional Laws are a Violation of your Rights, and that Taxation is the highest form of Theft.
For all other Countries, States, or Provinces, ect. please be sure to check your local laws and regulations regarding the production, assembly, possession, or use of such of a device before proceeding with any of the aforementioned actions.
So everyone is aware, because I have recieved a few messges asking, so far for rounds being quietest through this Suppressor in testing, the best so far have been as follows:
Remmington UMC 147g (990fps, #23732)
Freedom Munitions "Hush" 147g (900fps, #FMH9R147N)
Freedom Munitions "Hush" 165gr (800fps, #FMH9R165N)
Winchester Super Suppressed 147g (990fps, #Sup9)
Federal Premium American Eagle 124gr (1030fps, #AE9SUP1)
There have been mixed results with some other rounds such as Follows:
Federal American Eagle Handgun 124gr (1150fps, #AE9AP)
CCI Blazer Brass 124gr (1090fps, #5201)
The Blazer Brass listed was also reported to have been hit and miss on being hearing safe unless shooting in an open area, most testing was performed with Shooter and close by observer, and then another observer at a distance of 100ft or more away.
