P322 light strike fix

22 Long Rifle Sig Sauer

Had many light strike issues with my p322, and it seemed I wasn't the only one. Aguila was pretty bad, along with magtech 22lr and even CCI. I really didn't want to send my gun to sig after patiently waiting for it, and I found a youtube video documenting how to fix this issue with a spacer under the hammer spring. Its a very simple design- just a 5.5mm diameter circle that is 2mm in height. Mostly posting for visibility if anyone is having issues.

This instantly resolved my issues and instead of a 50% failure to fire rate I haven't had one light strike in over 1,100 rounds. All you are doing is adding a slightly greater amount of tension to the hammer spring. I suspect the reason for the light strike is that there is a very small gap between the firing pin and the breech face, allowing you to dry fire the p322 without damaging it. It could very well be tolerances stacking against your favor, but nevertheless, this fixes it.

*Be sure the spacer sits flush in the hammer spring channel*

I used PLA and after 1100+ rounds I have not noticed any problems and I think problems are unlikely as it's not really a load-bearing part.

The video can be found here and I highly recommend watching it to disassemble and reassemble your gun properly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VNqR9ltHnk&ab_channel=RobertoNascimento
