Rifle AR-15

The D.S.M.G. (direct mount spade grip) is a spade grip that mounts directly to an ar15 platform reciever.

The traditional method of adding spade grips to an ar15 is to attach it to the back of the buffer. The DSMG makes the whole package more compact by attaching directly to the reciever and allowing the buffer tube to protrude behind it. The whole package with the use of a compact buffer tube allows sights mounted on the reciever to be used more effectively and the overall length reduction allows the user to get closer to a tripod mount and moves the center of gravity further forward. The DSMG is also capable of being used without a buffer tube.

The grips of the DSMG are intended to be made from 1" wood dowels but can be made from any other suitable material as well.

The DSMG is best suited for either a vehicle mountable ar15 variant or a compact deployable ar15 build that can be fairly accurate without a stock utilizing a light tripod.

The DSMG was originally made to make a miniature mounted weapon using a short 50 Beowulf barrel, in the style of a scaled down M2.

Now with some modifications it can be used on a variety of builds requiring this unique ergonomic departure from the norm.
