TLDR: This is what I call an MPR-195, aka. The Abomination. I took a P90 forend and attached it to some AR-15 parts and added an MP5 style charging handle. THEN added an electronic firing system (semi-auto of course). If you think its ugly, thank you. That was the point, I hope you enjoy.

It all started last fall, I was getting a BRN-180 and saw some discussion of making it like a P90. I thought that it would not be too difficult to take a Hoffman Tactical lower and turn it into a bullpup. I decided to start working on it right after completing the monolithic lower I was already planning to make. A month into the project I realized it would be much easier (and cheaper) to make a “small scale” .22 LR version that could use some parts I already had and just order the cheapest handguard and upper receiver I could find. While those were in transit, I went to work on the firing system. Then I realized how cool this whole thing would be if it had an MP5 style charging handle and decided to make this as a separate rifle. It uses a completely unmodified LaRue MBT-2 trigger, a AR-22 barrel, a CMMG .22 bolt carrier and a linear actuator controlled by an electromechanical relay energized by a microswitch in the forend. A 9v battery and a DC-DC converter powers everything. The trigger pull force is so light it doesn’t register on my gauge. I’m working on an assembly guide and will release the designs at some point when I work out these final kinks. Everyone who has tried thinks it’s crazy at first and then asks how they can make one when their done.

5/26/2023 Update:
I'm working on the last of the big issues the rifle has been having. The guy who does Stuff Made Here uses the phrase "intergration hell" or the difficulties the process of interconnecting all the sub assemblies and making them work as intended to make the final product. I think I have just been walking though a corner of intergration pergatory and I should be mostly out soon. The last two hurdles have been the actuator breaking and an issue with the CMMG .22 LR bolt. The actuator motor threw a winding, which I didn't think was possible for a DC motor to do. Also I didn't account for about 2 mm of space behind the CMMG bolt to keep it in battery which was accounting for lots of light primer strikes and failures to extract the lightly struck cartridge. I actually fixed it three weeks ago, just haven't had enough time to go to the range and test it again.

I want to release these files and a guide but the rifle is just not reliable enough right now. The internal parts keep changing to get it working right but I will release release all this in more detail in time. Thank you for your patients and I'm sorry for the wait.
