Introducing the SB1 (Silly Bayonet 1). A few days back a redditor on r/GunMemes posted a "cursed pistol" with a mini-bayonet attached. Like many others I hated it, but then also needed something just like it in my life! So I decided to dumb-down my DB Alloy 3D printed firearm build with the monstrosity you see above.
Everybody loves Mel Brook's movie Spaceballs (1987) and the whole merchandising scene is a hoot. "Spaceballs The T-Shirt, Spaceballs The Cereal, Spaceballs The Flamethrower". Well... "Spaceballs The Magazine Bayonet" is a 30 round 9mm Glock style magazine with a blade integrated directly into the magazine baseplate. This "bayonet" can be used as a normal magazine but also mounted horizontally on the front of the pistol with the picatinny rail retention "pouch". The magazine is sturdily held into place with a retaining tab, but can be removed with a tug (or I guess...by jabbing the pointy end in somebody and pulling back). I made it ludicrous spaceball themed by making some mini plates you can easily epoxy directly to the magazine (as shown in the image above and also included in the zip file). I originally tried integrating these pieces directly into the mag walls, but they are too thin and modification greatly reduced wall strength (causing failures). I included that STL in the zip file too if anyone thinks they can print it out of something stronger than PLA+.
This thing is a hodge-podge of other people's work/models that I've remixed together to make SB1. Huge credit to the following designs listed below for their excellent work, which were used as MAJOR inspiration (go follow them for "real" content!!)...
- Glock Mag Pouch By @Erl_81180 on Printables
- Menendez DPT Remix Glock 30 RD Mag -> https://odysee.com/@Design-Prototype-Test:9/Menendez-DPT-Edit-V2:a
- DB Alloy Magpul Style Hand Stop Remix -> https://odysee.com/@trenbaloneysandwich:0/magpull-extendo2.3:a
- UAMD-2-Srtd -> https://odysee.com/@FFFTech:3/UAMD2Srtd:8
Same hardware is required as with the Menendez Mag & Hand stop linked above. Print settings are the same too (everything 100% infill).
The DB Alloy pistol download link (for those interested in building one along with all the original instructions etc) can be found here -> https://odysee.com/@db-firearms:4/DB-Alloy-Official-Release-1.0:4
May The Schwartz Be With You.
Be careful & enjoy!
