You can use it as a modifier on 3d printed gun stocks/accessories/etc. to add a realistic wood grain. A multi-material printer like the H2D is required.
To use this file, either import your STL(s) into the included blender file and use a boolean operation to generate the wood grain mask OR import the included OBJ into your slicer as a modifier. Unless you have a multi-part print where you want the wood grain to line up, I would recommend doing it all in the slicer (doing it in blender also tends to take a really long time).
The blend file also includes the original curves used to generate the rings, you can use them to modify the pattern if the rings are too thin/thick/dense/sparse.
