The Rock — PSA ROCK (5.7) FRT Slide Insert + Trip (STEP file)

The Rock STEP — CAD file for a drop-in Forced Reset Trigger (FRT) for the PSA ROC in 5.7. Includes the slide insert and the internal trip. Released to the public for tinkering, tweaking, and learning — no gatekeeping, no inflated vendor pricing.

This package contains a STEP (CAD) file of The Rock FRT for the PSA ROCK (5.7). The model includes:

Slide insert — intended to sit in the slide at the gap that leads to the safety plunger.

Internal trip — installs in the trigger housing of the frame and is the indexing piece that creates the forced reset action.

This release is intended for public experimentation and modification so folks can freely tweak, remix, and improve without getting charged high prices by vendors.

(VERIFIED: a machined/metal version is in development and may be released later; specs and timeline are subject to change.)

Installation notes — trip & pins (important)

The trip install is almost exactly like the TX-22: focus on extracting the single pin during removal/installation — if you know TX-22 installs, this will feel familiar.

Tip: tape the pins and housing together with blue painter’s tape during disassembly/assembly to prevent small parts from falling out or springs/detents from shifting. This makes extracting/reinstalling the one focus-pin much easier.

The trip installs into the trigger housing of the frame. The slide insert seats in the slide, aligned to the gap leading to the safety plunger. the insert might need increased/decreased in size, depending on your printing set-up

Always verify function and safety after assembly. If unsure, consult a qualified gunsmith.

Printing & material notes (recommended)

Recommended material: carbon-fiber reinforced nylon — preferred for stiffness and heat resistance.

Avoid relying on low-heat filaments (PLA, PLA blends) for long-term use; they can soften under heat/friction.

Layer height: ~0.12–0.2 mm. Infill: 100% no supports
