Tired of paying a Benjamin for some welding blanket with velcro straps?

Simple 3 piece mold you can fill with high temp silicone to make a functional cover for around $10.

You'll need some PLA, 3/4" velcro straps, some basic M3 nuts and bolts and high temp silicone (Alumilite Mold Maker or Smooth On High Temp).

Disclaimer and excuse for halfassery in this upload - This was never meant to be released, I cranked it out in an afternoon on a whim. This STEP file is made for the AB A-10 Warthog 5.56 can (around 5" long 1.5" in diameter), but splitting it and extruding the gap should be all you need to do for making it fit your can. I'd say this file is nothing more than an idea, tons of room for improvement so I'm putting it out there for the community to perfect in the way only you guys can.

I didn't expect this first attempt with Hobby Lobby Silicone to work so well, but it did. I've mag dumped 100 rounds to get it rocket hot a couple of times and put around 2K rounds through it so far with no wear, melting or issues. On the next version I'll make the whole thing a little thinner to save weight, I never expected it to be this durable.
