Savage 110 Trail Hunter AR Mag conversion

Rad Bison Public Domain 191.1KiB Released December 21, 2025, 11:32 AM

This is a bolt in conversion kit for a Savage 110 Trail Hunter chambered in .450 Bushmaster to make it so you can use regular AR mags instead of the exorbitantly expensive proprietary Savage OE magazine that only holds 3 rounds. Use the factory hardware, unscrew the OE thin plastic magwell, screw in this new one, and use your favorite flavor of AR mags that work with .450 Bushmaster.

Savage, if you are reading this, this is how this gun should have come from the factory...

NOTE: This was designed and developed on a rifle chambered in .450BM, however it likely will work with other natively AR calibers i.e. 300BO, 5.56, etc. Try at your own discretion.

Print with 3-5 walls and at least 50% infill for best results. Button is designed to use a regular milspec AR mag release arm and spring. The button is designed to be tapped by the thread of the mag release arm, run it through a couple times to get it threaded nicely. Some filing may be needed for proper button fitment, it is very tight at first but should loosen up, file the button NOT the magwell. DO NOT jam the mag in without the magwell inserted, the top piece will break.
