Printed Primer Pocket Insert Concept

@QuestioningIsKey 81.6KiB Released November 1, 2025, 9:42 AM

Hello,

With me being a cheap ass and not having the additional time to work on this idea of a printed primer pocket insert inside of an injection molded polyurethane/ polyethylene tube, I've decided to release it to those who may instead have better capabilities than I do to make this thing actually run.

The concept is basically a deviated take on the 43R printed ammo idea. Instead of printing the whole casing, this would just be a printed insert that holds the primer and powder. The outer diameter would be trimmed down so you could slide a molded polyurethane or polyethylene tube over it and glue it in place. The idea is that using molded tubing would be way more efficient and safer, plus it should handle higher internal pressures better than a fully printed shell/casing with more adjustability.

With the provided STEP, this particular model uses a 11 OD & 9ID poly tube; the priming pocket is already set up for small pistol primers. Keep in mind depending on platform your using, the rim loves to sheer, this is not a result from this concept, but also an issue regarding printed casings regardless. So, converting this to be used within a harlot...cough...cough, is not really a fantastic idea; it's almost as if the entire printed ammo concept was more so designed around the Modelo Polytactico.
