A set of rails purchased from Aves were donated to me to reproduce and release as open source, which I did here.
Please note these rails were modeled from a physical object, and so you could expect the following:
- Unknown part tolerances. Given that we have only one example of these rails, it's unclear where the dimensions for the original part lie.
- Intentional divergence from original spec. Aves has claimed to introduce tweaks and changes to other rail designs they sell (such as the DD1X.2 rails). This is less likely in this scenario, but it is not impossible.
- Manufacturing defects. This manufacturer has released parts with non-trivial defects before. This is also more likely for a brand-new part.
I invite those with the ability to DIY these rails to do so. This is what open source software looks like.
