This buffer adapter allows an original Maschinenpistole 40, or MP40 to use common modern 9mm ball ammunition in place of the substantially higher pressure SMG specification ammunition it was originally made to use.
This adapter is not needed or intended for modern semi automatic reproductions or derivatives of the MP40 and will only work in original MP40 SMGs.
The adapter uses a standard AR15 or M4 carbine buffer weight and spring, allowing an MP40 found on a modern battlefield to quickly be made serviceable with readily obtainable parts.
Edit: Now includes a version 8mm shorter if you are experiencing weak ejection with 9mm as low as 115gr.
