Digital stippling like that works really well. I’ve done it on my G17LB and did a Beskar style pattern on the grip as well. I run .5mm debossing for things like stippling and logos.

That’s where is looked, but I still can’t find it. He’s got the G17LB, which is externally the same as this but uses PY2A rails, and he’s got a bunch of DD17.2s, none of which have this front end

Annealing doesn't magically make the part isotropic. It increases tensile strength uniformly which helps layer adhesion, but the part will still be proportionally stronger in xy. TDS strength numbers are always post annealing and always show an xy vs z strength disparity.
