Okay, mystery solved. I used an AR- 15 magazine release spring. I did NOT cut it down. I was able to squeeze it into the locking mechanism, and it worked perfectly. It all feels pretty solid.

Now, I would recommend cutting about 1/3 of the length of the spring off, as that will make it easier to …
