It looks like you have the same gap on the rear portion of the upper and lower like mine. Has this affected function at all for you? On mine it appears the the bolt wouldn’t sit in there securely against where the buffer plug sits. Is yours like this as well?

To be honest, i hadn't paid much attention to the FM15 and didn't realize they were making an upper that didn't require a buffer tube. Too bad they don't offer an 18" version that would be plug and play.
