After my buffer tube breaking from a fall (not firing/cycling) not once but twice right behind the mounting flange, i decided to try and help it out a little. this retains the standard MKII buffer dimensions for the butt stalk and mounting flange but beefs up the o.d. in the transition area, adds bracing that should almost meet the butt stalk. i recommend using allen head screws (the hex heads should fit but getting a socket over them will be next to impossible) with washers instead of the hex screws for ease of instillation. also retains originat FOSSCAD logo but made 0.2mm deeper for better visibility!
update 11-22-24 after some testing i found it was possible to over tighten the lower screw enough to tork the whole tube just enough that the bolt would bind up, so updated to include shims! simply remove the lower buffer tube screw, insert the shim, retighten the screw. 2 shims are included- 1mm and 1.5mm. i found the 1.5mm worked best. hole is slightly oversized so it literally should just slide in!
