Ruger Mk Series Penguin Fart Muzzle Devices
By CVA Buck
Background: I have an old Ruger MK II Target that I wanted to be able to attach various muzzle devices to, however, due to the front sight post location, having the barrel threaded by a smith would have cost almost as much as a new [used] gun. So, drawing inspiration from the chineseum thread mounts on ebay and gunbroker, I designed a series of mounts and muzzle devices that can be printed.
Special Thanks to @MiddletonMade for suggesting the picatinny undermount and inadvertently causing me to significantly improve the screw clamp design.
There are two methods of attaching these devices. The screw clamp uses an M3 Taper Head and nut, and is more secure. The knurled band gives a cleaner look, but use requires either removal of the front sight post or removal of the barrel from the receiver. Each muzzle device also includes an optional picatinny undermount for lights, lasers, tactical tusks, or whatever other mall assassin crap you can think of.
Options include:
- Ridiculously oversized comp brake, because why not?
- 1/2 x 28 threads for various other muzzle devices (Don't use with silencers, the backpressure will cause the threads to eventually fail)
- MiddletonMade threads for the @MiddletonMade Pill Popper V.1
- Broom threads for brooms, the Sneeki Breeki, or whatever else the internet can imagine up
- And a blank canvas to modify as you like for your own ideas
