The Kozienicki rifle was the first Polish designed weapon; produced in the Weapon Factory in Kozienice in between the years of 1790-1794. It was designed for the infantry of the Polish Army. It was a single shot, flintlock rifle with a threaded barrel. The decision on production its was made by the Four-Year Parliament at the request of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. The rifle was used widely during the Polish-Russian War in 1792 and during the Kosciuszko Insurrection. Total production of all Kozieniecki rifles is estimated at almost 500. The only still-preserved rifle is located in the Museum of the Polish Army.
